Fabbian lights up the Milan Cathedral Glass Octagon

05.04.2012

Fabbian Illuminazione took part with enthusiasm in the Milan Cathedral project called "Glass octagon to link heaven and earth", based on an architectural project by Gianni Arlunno and contractor Paolo Criveller. This is a clear-glass structure which, inside Milan Cathedral, accommodates the information point and bookshop. Fabbian Illuminazione supplied all the lighting apparatus.

In particular, Fabbian designed, specifically for the purpose, 75 spotlights in chromed metal with minimal look, suitable for lighting up the books to be arranged on the glass shelves of the bookshop.

On the outside, the structure is lit up by 8 Cricket spotlights which project warm light upwards; inside the structure, another 8 Cricket spotlights light up the top part of the glass dome. Protagonist of the inside lighting is a Sospesa lamp measuring one meter by one meter: its ethereal and transparent structure well integrates with the construction philosophy of the Octagon. Finally, 4 Orbis and 4 Star spotlights act as support for the inside lighting at workstations. Take advantage of your presence at the "Salone del Mobile" to see this installation.
